Can you describe your organisation and your role?

CB Richard Ellis Group is the world’s largest commercial real estate services firm and the first independent international real estate consultancy to set up offices in the Indian sub continent with an office in New Delhi in 1994.

We provide our clients with a number of services in the core areas of strategic consulting, valuations/ appraisals, agency services, asset services and project management.

My association with the real estate industry began in the year 1994, when I was instrumental in setting up operations for the CB Richard Ellis practice in the Indian subcontinent.

What is your greatest achievement in your career?

For me, my greatest achievement in my career has been building the best team of people in the industry and being pioneers in various areas of real estate services.

What is your vision for the Indian property market?

The Indian real estate market still has a long way to go. I expect a substantial increase in institutional play in the market which would lead to more transparency and efficiency. The government is gradually recognising the importance of the real estate industry and will further bring out policy reforms. The overall infrastructure of the country will improve with better quality offices, retail, residential and industrial developments. Certainly exciting times ahead.

What is your advice to young Indian professionals wishing to join the
property profession?

This is an industry which will offer huge growth opportunities and several fields, ranging from leasing and sales work to capital markets, investment sales, valuations, consulting and advisory, asset management, project marketing, facilities management – the list goes on. However they should get good ground level experience which will always benefit them in the future.

What does RICS mean to you?

To me it means professionalism and best practice on a global scale.
