Nimish Gupta FRICS
CEO, Eigen Technical Services Pvt Ltd

Can you describe your organisation and your role?

Eigen is a world leader in the provision of remote-based technical and commercial services to the global construction industry. Its core competence is in developing a concept design into an integrated detailed design and in providing documentation ready for use in construction, together with technological and commercial support services.

I am responsible for providing clear leadership for the business, including operational and financial performance.

What is your greatest achievement in your career?

I would consider helping start Laing O’Rourke’s operations in India from scratch, setting up Eigen and growing it to the size that it is today as my greatest achievement in my career.

What is your vision for the Indian property market?

The real estate market of India is poised to grow from £35bn to more than £60bn in about five years. It is moving to a system oriented approach and towards modern construction techniques & methods, albeit very gradually. It needs a quick revolution towards bringing in the best global practices to India to ensure this growth is managed effectively. This needs an institutionalised approach - provided by globally renowned professional body like RICS.

What is your advice to young Indian professionals wishing to join the
property profession?

My advice to young Indian professionals wishing to join the property profession would be to have an aggressive approach towards learning. The learning should not be limited only to modern construction technology and methods but should also include learning global best practice.

What does RICS mean to you?

I believe that it is the right time India saw the benefits of having RICS accredited professionals help organise the Indian property market and bring the best of the world to India.
